Maternity Wear

Why are all the maternity wear so EXPENSIVE and yet SO UGLY?

I mean,

it's hard enough to look fat all the time,

so why can't they make nicer clothes?!?

Bei's been asking me to buy some maternity wear,

but whenever we walk past any maternity shop, 

I can't bring myself to go in

because at one glance,

I knew I couldn't.

I couldn't look fat + zero fashion sense.

AND THE PRICE IS...

ARE THEY TRYING TO CARROT HEAD WE, 

POOR PREGNANT WOMEN?!

Just a bit more cloth,

then charge u so much more.

Who says that being pregnant,

you give up on fashion and throw on any big clothes you can find?

I just want to dress decently,

sob!

Kite-flying

This is really backdated,

that's when I was still slim and hot (lol!)

Here's a picture of my face,

you didn't forget how I look, right?

This is the 2nd time we brought out our kite,

and Bei's pretty excited about it,

like a little boy!

Usually, he will choose food first,

but his time, he ignored the macs!

There's quite a crowd,

alot of families.

That's Bei trying to get the kite up,

all by himself.

We were busy cam-whoring.

Matchy hello-kitty beanies!

Skin was really good,

so Q Q.

Pregnancy takes that away from you.

But it is a good sacrifice, I guess.

Baby Sah insisted we should take a picture with the kite kite-string.

Bei is obviously enjoying every bit of this.

In no time, it's up in the sky soaring!

Our kite,

which I had to zoom to get a picture!

Then, some random arsehole decided to join the party, 

and his kite got tangled with ours.

He yanked like a mad dog, our string broke 

and it was "bye bye kite".

Bei was super upset,

and he even wanted to go and find his broken kite.

I was like "WHAT",

it flew off to dunoo where!

So, we ended up eating.

Bei kept whining,

so we took our wallets & went off to find a place to buy kites.

This was supposedly a very nice picture,

but the photographer aka baby sah didnt switch on the flash.

While we searched high and low for a kite,

they cam-whore!

We managed to find a shop selling kites (Phew!).

Bought a spider man kite for the little boy in my husband.

He is extremely happy about it.

At the kite shop, 

he was still asking me if we should buy those string with glass to cut off people's kite,

or those string with lights.

We changed into another string,

which was mega-long and thick!

Adrian got tired after a while (pig!).

Oh ya, our mat was a table mat, HAHA!

Baby sah couldnt find her picnic mat,

so we made do with a table mat instead.

Fireworks went off nearby!

We went to do what we are best at.

Okay, bye bye!!

1st Trimester

These few months has been rather tiring for me.

I'm sorry,

but this is gonna be a pregnancy ranting post.

I've read books and books,

they said that you will feel a burst of energy in the 2nd trimester.

Well,

I did, for the first few days of the 2nd trimester.

The burst I felt most,

was the tummy burst.

I think my tummy looks 5 months now,

when I'm only 3 months.

People ask me if I've been eating too much

-___-"

I've started wearing maternity dresses,

which is too early as well.

What is happening?!

Anyway,

Bei's family said that the tummy is rounded

so that's a baby girl in there.

Bei's pretty much convinced too.

I'm still hoping that there's a little dick growing.

Ok, that's crude.

I'm sorry,

I meant I hope there's a baby boy in my tummy.

But then again,

all I wish and want right now 

is to have a healthy normal baby.

I guess gender isn't really important to me,

even though I portrayed it to be.

I'm having backache,

and that came a little too soon, I think.

When I get off the bed,

I'm constantly having this 

"I SPRAINED MY BACK!!!".

But I've been so blessed,

I hope the blessings will come even more.

ah, I'm so greedy!

PREGNANT

So, the title is self-explanatory.

We hit the jackpot,

and now, there's gonna be a baby.

By the way,

this was drafted like weeks ago 

but I'm only posting it now after my 1st trimester.

(Chinese believe that for the 1st three months,

you should be hush-hush about the pregnancy.)

Anyway,

we did a calculation and the jackpot was hit in Maldives.

You may all know that my wedding was held back in Dec 2012,

and the honeymoon was in Feb 2013.

So honestly from Wedding Day onward,

we take nature take its course.

(Ok, for those who doesn't understand,

it means no protection in any form)

We didn't try for a baby,

cos we believe that if God wants to give us one,

he would.

Moreover, friends around us were reproducing rapidly, lol.

But then, when Feb 2013 came and that's when the Chinese New Year was,

everyone started asking when's the baby coming?

That's when I got kind of scared

and I remembered asking Bei

"what if there's some problem with us?

I mean we have been ...... for 2 months and nothing?"

In the end,

we decided that if it doesn't come by end of 2013,

we will see a doctor.

After all,

both of us didn't really want a snake baby.

But, 

deep down I was still afraid

and I kind of prayed for one.

And you know,

God listens.

VOLA!

Here's one for us!

Now,
all I hope is that the baby is healthy and normal.

and hopefully, it's a BOY!

pleaseeeeee gimmeeeee a boyyyyyyyyyy.

Kite-Flying

Since I'm done with blogging about Maldives,

I'm kind of tidying up the albums 

and looking through past photos.

I realized that I never did blog about the kite-flying!!!

WHY!

Okay, 

here's a naise picture while I find my energy to blog one long entry.

All you need to know about MALDIVES!

1. Where to book?

Travel Fair

Bei & I are not really keen on travel fair,

largely because of the crowd (he hates crowd) and fairs are usually so over-rated.

The myth of travel packages being cheaper in fairs is yes, a myth.

They usually just give you more freebies, like suitcases?

Moreover, it is only cheaper IF you go to the common popular countries,

like Europe.

Agency

We went to a couple of travel agency, like Asa Travel, etc in Chinatown.

A lot of travel agency in Chinatown so we thought we would check it out,

but it takes super long for the staff to check the travel package prices, MEH.

Well, perhaps the packages they have are all for the beach villas.

But we wanted a water villa for our honeymoon.

I mean, who wants to spend their honeymoon being bitten by bugs and all?

Isn't water villas more appropriate for honeymoon?

Anyway, in the end, we received quotes for about $7~9K,

and it wasn't even a 5-star hotel.

Online

We very much given up hope and wanted to just book via the agency

BUT BUT BUT

clever Bei researched and found this website which a lot of people uses:

This website is the best!

They have everything about Maldives!

We were kind of skeptical about it though.

After all, imagine remitting a few thousand dollars over,

not knowing for sure if they really book the hotel for you.

Well, this website acts like an agency actually,

they even live support which is like a live chat for you to ask questions.

You can check on the rates of every single hotel in Maldives,

the promotions, etc!

Bei did all the asking and we he finally decided on Hilton Hotel,

because of the brand name.

He said he doesn't want to risk our honeymoon being miserable,

on some ulu pandan hotel.

Some of the hotels there really have the weirdest name,

but surprisingly, a lot of people voted it as a good hotel.

Total spending for Hotel Booking: $5.2K 

(5D4N, including breakfast only)

You can choose to have all meals accommodated for a higher price,

but I don't recommend that because there's so many restaurants there for you to try!

2. Flight?

Singapore Airlines

I had a really bad experience with SQ before. 

You can read it here.

Come to think of it,

there was also another time - 

the tv on board the plane from Paris back to SG was down

and the staff was so slow in rectifying it,

I burst out crying cos I wouldn't imagine sitting for hours with no tv.

ANYWAY,

I heard that it was so so much cheaper to travel to Malaysia,

and take a plane from there to Maldives.

But Bei didn't want the hassle,

neither did he want any budget airlines.

So, we narrowed down to Cathay, Emirates and SQ.

SQ proved to be the cheapest,

as they were having this "Sweet deals 2 to go".

So, we flew SQ yet again.

This time, 

we got irritated again.

At the entrance of the plane (after all the check in and all the other checks),

we just wanna step in and sit.

The crew at the door greeted us,

so Bei told her where we are seated - the seat numbers.

Then, she asked for our passport & tickets

(HELLO I KEPT IT ALREADY, 

YOUR COLLEAGUE JUST CHECK IT LIKE 10 SECS AGO)

So, Bei said we already know where we are seated,

why do you still need to see it?

And she went all stern

"I need to see them"

I was like wtf and proceed to dig them out of my rilakkuma bag.

(at that point, I wished I brought along my chanel, prada, etc).

IS THIS PART OF THE PROCEDURE?

The old men behind didnt have to show their passports!!

MEH

We feel so intimidated.

(next time, I'm bringing all my branded bags, lol)

The service throughout the flight was very pleasing though,

there was this super nice lady who was super nice to me.

The nice staffs are the juniors,

but the judging one is a senior.

Total spending for airline: $1.7K

3. Hotel

Hilton Hotel

They indeed lived up to their reputation,

I would say.

They have a weekly newsletter,

showing the activities available everyday.

Once you check in,

spare no time and start planning your days!

Some of the restaurants are highly sought after,

and maybe fully booked!

FOOD!!!

Shopping is MEGA-expensive.

I hope they entice you to stay at Hilton Hotel,

they are really pretty good!
