MANILA - DAY 2

Forced to wake up early to eat breakfast @ the hotel

MANILA - DAY 1

Flew to Manila, to attend Kenny & Haidee's Wedding   


Took SQ and took Budget Airline back! Yes, you know the saga if u have been following~

Totally DRAMA! but enuff of that already!

Heard alot of stories from friends and colleagues, so didnt dare to carry my branded bag so bought this instead:

We got stopped shortly by the Traffic Police.
The van is on color coding, where vehicles whose plate numbers end in different digits are banned from traveling on different days.

So, the traffic police wanted to check if the van was abiding the color coding rules, which of course is!
Then he said that the driver changed lanes abruptly and asked for $$. Wtf!!!!




The poor horse, got honked by so many cars. It was already galloping at its maximum. WHY are they so cruel!!!

My flight was SQ921 departing on 16 Apr 2012 1850hrs, from Manila(MNL) to Singapore(SIN). Due to the heavy traffic in Manila, We left the hotel very early to get to the airport. However, the traffic was horrible and we only managed to reach the check in counter 10 mins after the required check in time.

The lady at the counter, Santos, Angellie T turned us down flatly, saying that the check in has closed. We do know that we were late, but it was a MERE 10 mins and it was due to the traffic congestion. We asked if anything could be done for us, anything and all she said was "No, it's closed". Now, that wasn't the kind of service I expect when I chose SQ over other budget airlines which provides such competitive prices! Honestly, I know something could be done. So, we asked a few more times, I would say we were literally begging for her help. We even said that we can do without the luggages and we just want to get back to Singapore. Eventually, she made some calls and then, said again there is nothing she can do.

We were stranded, helpless, had not much money left, only a couple of credit cards, no internet access and it was getting dark.
And n0thing, she said can be done for us.

She asked us to go to the SQ office to purchase another flight ticket to get back to Singapore. As we proceed to leave, it was being announced asking check in passengers to enter. Evidently, it is POSSIBLE to accept us in too!

We went to the SQ office, and was told that they do not sell tickets. Instead, they gave us a hotline to call to purchase tickets and told us the hotline is CLOSED now and only open the next day at 8am.
DOES THAT MEAN WE SUPPOSED TO CAMP OVERNIGHT AT THE AIRPORT?
It is ridiculous and we asked for a quicker, efficient way of doing things. So they said we can check online and purchase the tickets online. We had no laptop and our iphone does not have Java, we can't purchase the tickets! So, we asked if we could use their computers and they shrugged and said their system cant use internet. HELLO, for goodness sake, how do SQ customers who missed their flight rebook another flight, SERIOUSLY?! We asked when is the next earliest flight and she said "It's tomorrow and I think it is fully booked. You have to call them to check or check online." That really, really is some service! I am appalled and baffled beyond words.

Please let me know how to go about claiming for my return flight back to Singapore. We did purchase the insurance offered by SQ.

Manila (FINALLY BACKED TO SG)


I am finally back from Philippines!

It was a major HOOO-HAAAA

Missed the SQ flight check in by 5-10 mins and the staff at the counter in Philippines refused to help. Just turn us down flatly and said she is sorry blah blah blah. YA RIGHT, U ARE SORRY!
When we were begging and all, they were still announcing for passengers. AND SHE WONT EVEN ACCEPT US IN. THAT HEARTLESS WOMAN!

Was told to go up to the SQ Office to rebook/purchase a ticket. So, we went and the staff there said this is just an office, they DO NOT sell any tickets. Wtf! Stunned! Then, they asked us to book online or call the hotline to book the next day as the hotline only starts 8:30am the next day.

We had no laptop, and almost down to the last peso. We asked if they could let us use their computer to book and they said blah blah blah all the excuses. SO WHAT NOW! ARE we supposed to sleep in the airport overnight and wait till the next day to call them? Our phone batt were dying!

So damn pathetic!

We had no choice, left the office, call up our friend to take us in for the night AND THAT HEARTLESS WOMAN PASSED BY US and Baby Sah asked her some questions, and she was like "oh, im so sorry about it blah blah blah" with that guilty face. WE KNOW U COULD HAVE DONE SOMETHING! instead of just saying NO to us.

Stranded and checked for next available flight (SQ, Tiger Airways, etc). All FULLY booked except SQ which will cost SGD900++ for a one way ticket (WTFFFFFF! so expensive!!!!!). I was so desperate to get back to SG (cos of damn work) that I was really ok with paying SGD 900 ++ (I cant believe myself..sighs) but Baby Sah wasn't willing so we tried to check other airlines and the next available flight is at least 1-2 days later which is crazy for me cos I have to go back to SG to finish up my WORK and then 2 days later, go to Taiwan! Thanks god for Kenny & Haidee's friend, damn efficient, helped us checked and all, managed to find a flight back the very next day..BUT it is from another airport that will take 2 hours + + to get there. It's the airport at Clark. Another nice friend of theirs offered to get a cab for us (he owns like 60 cabs?), cos no cab would be willing to drive us to Clark from Manila.  It's just wayyyy toooo FAR!

So, things seemed to work out pretty fine.

So, not removing my make-up and contact lenses, stayed over at Haidee's place. Slept a few hours and woke up for the long ride to Clark Airport. Didnt bath, only finger brush my teeth (COS we thought we were going back to SG and Bei said to THROW AWAY THE TOOTHBRUSH).

Slept on the way there, 2 hours but Bei didnt sleep cos he was really worried and kinda looking out for us.
Finally reached after a bit of finding by the driver cos he has been to Clark but never to the Clark Airport.
Checked in early and super happy to be finally going home! The flight was supposed to be at 12:10 and when it was 12:00, still no announcement for us to board the plane (we wanna cry liao!!!) then when it is 12:15, they announced "FLIGHT DELAYED for 5 hours!!!!" -.-"

After 4 hours of torturing wait, they announced "FLIGHT DELAYED FOR FURTHER 1 HOUR"

OH JUST KILL ME THERE!!!!

so we waited and waited

and finally got on the plane at 17:51
HOLY SHIT, FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

okay, I gonna go wake Bei up! WE ARE GOING TO TAIWAN! YEAH!
BUBBLE TEA EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

TIRED

Work's been insane lately.
Quarter closing and the overwhelming migration of system (totally failed!)
The working hours has been driving me crazy, as late as 4am?!!

Im not even sure if putting in so much time and working so hard, is it worth it?
